How can i make sure to get every bit of soap off of my guinea pig after i bath it?

just curious, i want to take good care of my guinea pig cuz my hamster just died. How can i make sure to get every bit of soap off of my guinea pig after i bath it?
If you can help it, don't bathe him/her at all. Guinea pigs don't really need to be bathed because if they do get bathed too much, they loose the natural oils in their skin which can cause dandruff. And believe me, it can also cause redness to the skin and they can also loose fur.

I bath my guinea pigs nearly around every 6-8 months if they need it. Because guinea pigs clean themselves and are quite happy without a bath. But if your guinea pigs are dirty enough, and if they also stink and what not, then yo can bath them.

You can use baby shampoo or special shampoo you can buy at pet shops for them. Make the water luke warm as a guinea pigs skin is very sensitive. The best place to bath them would be the sink, but some people prefer the bath. And have the water as deep as you want as long as the guinea pigs can still stand and their head is out of the water.

To make sure the soap suds are out, you need to rinse them several times anyway to get it out. That's what I do and I have never had a problem. But I have only bathed my guinea pigs about 2 times since i've had them and i have had them for 2 years. So it levels out. And they are completely healthy in every possible way.How can i make sure to get every bit of soap off of my guinea pig after i bath it?
If you help by keeping the cage clean, most pigs will clean themselves well enough to not need bathing. However, sometimes, even with good care, a tidy pig will figure out a way to get dirty and need a bath, and some guinea pigs are just, well, pigs and will get themselves dirty even a clean cage.

You don't want to be bathing a pig more frequently than monthly and that is more than you will need even in the most extreme cases.

We raise Peruvians, one of the long haired breeds which need periodic baths. We bathe show pigs about every 2 months and trimmed breeders once or twice a year.

We put an inch or so of warm (but not hot) water in one side of the double kitchen sink. Then we add a bit of baby shampoo to the water and put the pig in. Thoroughly soak the coat with the water by scooping it up with your hand and wetting the pig. If it isn't lathering well, add some shampoo directly on the pig's back and lather well avoiding the face. Once the pig is well lathered you need to rinse thoroughly. Our sink has a spray attachment which works really well if you turn the water on low and hold the sprayer very close(1/2 inch) to the pig's body. I think that it is a lot less traumatic for the pig than having water run from the tap or pouring it from a cup. Be sure that you run water through the sprayer before using it on the pig since the water standing in the hose will be cold. If your sink doesn't have a sprayer, you can get a ';hand shower'; which attaches to the faucet at most big drug stores. You can tell that all the shampoo is all gone when the water runs clear no matter where on the pig's body you hold the sprayer.

Towel the pig dry and finish off with a hair drier on the low setting if needed. Be sure the pig is thoroughly dry befor returning it to its newly cleaned cage!
Use a shampoo made for kittens to bath your piggie and only if he's really dirty. Bathing is really hard on his skin and you want to avoid it if at all possible. It's much better to brush your guinea pig to remove loose dirt and hair. It will help stimulate his skin and keep his fur looking beautiful.
What I would strongly suggest is using a shampoo set that is safe for guinea pigs to use. If you go to Petsmart I know they carry a variety of shampoo's safe for your guinea pig. Here is an example

It works well and I strongly suggest it. Don't use anything else on your piggy. It can really harm Him/her! I would hate to see that happen!!

I Hope I Helped!
you just rinse rinse rinse untill you feel that ';squeaky'; clean feeling. if there is still soap on him he won't feel squeeky when you pet his fur.

also, pigs dont' really like baths and you should only bath him when you absolutley need to. and you need to put him in the warm sun or blow dry him after or he can get extreamly cold and sick

also you should check out getting one of these for your pig.. they LOVE them! they are good for winter time or just holding them on your lap. and super easy to clean. i have like 3 of them lol

Don't wash them or give them baths. They don't really need them unless they're dirty (and I mean really dirty) or they have something harmful stuck to them (which shouldn't happen in the first place).
