What scents (I.E: incense/bath soaps) are good for therapy?

hi, i am depressed and need to smell certain scents for therapeutic purposes. what scents would you recommend for depression? whether it be incense or anything really..thanksWhat scents (I.E: incense/bath soaps) are good for therapy?
lavender, frankincense %26amp; myrrh, honeysuckle, musk, cherry, cinnamon, precious chandan, and vanilla incense are all good scents (anything cheery and sweet) you may disagree though. even look at www.indigowild.com and pick out your favorite scents of soaps candles and oil diffusers. What scents (I.E: incense/bath soaps) are good for therapy?
Well, resin incense - pure frankincense is cheap by the way - has a powerful and purifying effect. Cedar, sage, and sweetgrass have beautiful natural odors but are harder to come by. Pinon chips have a woody, natural aroma as well.

As far as soaps, they need not always be expensive. If you have a local Asian supermarket, I know there are usually small Chinese handsoaps, which are called ';Bee and Flower.'; Where I live, they cost less than 50 cents a piece. They feel natural and their scent is strong and refreshing.

I know a website that offers reasonably priced items that can be used for aromatherapy, e.g. incense, bath soap, etc.

Why is it when you have a bubble bath and you've got loads of bubbles, when you add a bar of soap?

all the bubbles burst? Why is it when you have a bubble bath and you've got loads of bubbles, when you add a bar of soap?
Commercial soaps are made from detergent and they kill the bubbles, which are made of actual soap.

Good luckWhy is it when you have a bubble bath and you've got loads of bubbles, when you add a bar of soap?
You,too.

Thanks for the best answer.

Yeah! What a bummer! I hate that! I'll sometimes take a shower first then fill up the bath and add the bubble bath and then soak with out the bath soap. I can enjoy the bubble bath better that way.
I dunno but I have always stopped the kids having soap in the bath because of this

What soaps and bath tools are best for getting off caked on dirt (sweat,deoderant...like that stuff)?

I got like deoderant stuck under my arms(like its not comming off) and like my whole backside is a few shades darker than my front and also my neck and stomach are darker than my face and it's really annoying ! someone please help me and dont be rude. please. What soaps and bath tools are best for getting off caked on dirt (sweat,deoderant...like that stuff)?
How long has it been since you showered? um, I'd just use normal soap. and a brush. and scrub. :) best thing i can tell ya. or maybe a loofa. What soaps and bath tools are best for getting off caked on dirt (sweat,deoderant...like that stuff)?
You may have to use a soap that has micro beads to scrub dead layers of skin. get a tough sponge or washcloth. put a tone of BODY WASH on it!!! and just scrub scrub scrub. If you cannot afford this, use a regular soap and regular sugar, YES SUGAR as a scrub. And in a couple of days, you will see a difference.
get a tough sponge or washcloth. put a tone of BODY WASH on it!!! and just scrub scrub scrub. and for the shades of your skin, if you go tanning.. stay on your stomach the whole time. and maybe some darker makeup?

    hope this helps.
use some good soap and a washcloth or something of that sort. You can try exfoliating too. If you don't have an exfoliating product than you can mix some sugar with your soap and scrub away.

Liquid soap and only liquid soap.

Bacteria can actually live on bar soap, so if you share bar soap with anyone else, you could be rubbing their bacteria all over yourself instead of getting clean.

(We cultured the surface of bars of soap in a microbiology class and found staph and e-coli on the surface of the soap, eww)
I have a liquid soap collect, including some different Caress, Booth Pomegranate (great smell!!!), and a few others........

What is a Good Soap to Bath With?

The area that I live in has really hard water, and I have always enjoyed a bath over a shower. However I noticed that if I use Ivory or dial in the tub, then it will produce a really nasty ring around my tub.

Are there any soaps out there that I can use that don't cause so much soap scum. Also I cannot get a water conditioner because I live in an apartment and I am a student, so money is an issue.

I am just looking for a soap that cuts down on the grime in the tub. What is a Good Soap to Bath With?
um....maybe caress. What is a Good Soap to Bath With?
use the kids stuff called 'matey' ...cleans the bath tub while you bathe

Dove is great - but you might be better off using a shower gel instead of a bar of soap.
    Dove...
I have the same problem and find that Dove is the best one for me.
Use whatever soap you want, just spray the tub down with Method daily shower cleaner afterwards. That keeps the tub clean.
    Dove
use Dove it leaves your skin really soft and dosn't leave soap scrum.

    trst me.
Olay body wash with lotion I just switch from dove my skin is so soft. Good luck
Glycerine soap (the clear bars, like Neutrogena).
I like Dove products,if you havn,nt tried them do the other i wld recommend is snowflakes, wonderful soap and bath jell Cassie
Olay or Caress, Dove, also using a bubble bath tends to cut down on ring around the tub. As the tub is draining take washcloth and wipe down the tub where the water line was, this should help.
I like Canyon Goat Milk bar soap. it makes me feel so clean and clear.
    Olay or dove

Antibacterial soap (like Dial Antibacterial bar soap) vs. plain ole regular soap for taking a bath or shower?

Do antibacterial soaps leave you cleaner than just using regular soap? Or is there no difference?Antibacterial soap (like Dial Antibacterial bar soap) vs. plain ole regular soap for taking a bath or shower?
the both clean but the antibacterial soap is to heal heal cuts so they will not get infected

both soaps clean equally. The doctors have said that if you take antibiotics when you don'r need them, you will then have your body grow accustom to the antibotics and they will not work as well when you are in real need of them

so i just use the antibacterial soap to wash my hands. regular dial or irish spring to shower.Antibacterial soap (like Dial Antibacterial bar soap) vs. plain ole regular soap for taking a bath or shower?
Cleaner? Not likely. Normal Bacteria can easily be killed with regular soap and warm water. Persistent bacteria then talk to a doctor.
All soaps with chemical agents in them destroy the natural PH balance of the skin. Normally the Ph level should be 5. They strip the acid mantle of your skin. To restore acid mantle to skin put half cup of vinegar into a bath and soak in it for 10 minutes. This will eliminate any skin irritations or itchiness caused by antibacterial soaps and plain soaps. Instead use something organic like goats milk soap. It can be purchased from any health food store, only costs about $1.00 per bar and lasts me about 8 weeks (family of 5). Pretty cheap and totally natural!!!

    CHEERS
I dont know if one is works better than the other but I prefer antibacterial soaps....
Using antibacterial soap is a good idea specially if you sweat a lot or there is lot of dust around
There is no difference and they are bad for the environment

They make Bacteria resistant to that Anti-bacterial
i dont know but i use antibacterial

How far back Soap was invented. For bathing and cleaning clothes what was the substitute of soap.?

We are using soap or detergents either in the form of solids, powders or liquids for different purposes like cleaning our body, clothes. or other materials. This must be not far away then this century so before this, what substance or material was used in place of the present day cleaners. How far back Soap was invented. For bathing and cleaning clothes what was the substitute of soap.?
Soap has been around for longer than you think. Take a look at this:

http://www.cleaning101.com/sdalatest/htm鈥?/a>How far back Soap was invented. For bathing and cleaning clothes what was the substitute of soap.?
Some plants contain sapoins (spelling) they can be used for washing.
I know there was some kind of plant that would have a sudsing affect when the stem was crushed. I don't remember what it was.
the roots of the YUCCA yielded a soaplike product used by southwestern native Americans.

The big pots being stirred by ';witches'; were probably for soap making. When people in the village were getting sick and these women were not, it was easier to blame a curse than lack of cleanliness.
The first 'soaps' were the leaves of certain plants that when crushed in water release suds and act as a cleaning agent.

These 'sapoderms' are still used today by indigenous tribesmen in Australia and Asia.
Ancient Romans bathed in olive oil and then scraped it off to carry away the dead skin and dirt.
im not sure but there is a plce called port sunlight, and centurys ago there was a man who made soap, and if you where lucky enough to be a servant, you'd get a house or whtever. it must have been expensive bck thn.
A soap-like material found in clay cylinders during the excavation of ancient Babylon is evidence that soapmaking was known as early as 2800 B.C. Inscriptions on the cylinders say that fats were boiled with ashes, which is a method of making soap, but do not refer to the purpose of the ';soap.'; Such materials were later used as hair styling aids.

Records show that ancient Egyptians bathed regularly. The Ebers Papyrus, a medical document from about 1500 B.C., describes combining animal and vegetable oils with alkaline salts to form a soap-like material used for treating skin diseases, as well as for washing

Could u use dawn dishwashing liquid soap as a bubble bath?

You could, but I don't recommend it. The detergents in Dawn do a great job of stripping the natural oils off your skin - your skin will feel terrible.

Besides that, Dawn is really hard to rinse off.Could u use dawn dishwashing liquid soap as a bubble bath?
oh my, that will dry it up really bad.

i know this sounds kind of weird, but put some DRY oatmeal in your bath water. it actually helps to soften your skin!Could u use dawn dishwashing liquid soap as a bubble bath?
yeah you could it will take all the fat out of your skin and maybe your skin too ! buy bubble bath.
you could, but itll dry your skin out. a LOT.

i learned in health that dish washing soap is super bad for your skin.

  • My baby gets soap in her mouth during bath time.?

My 3 month old sucks her fingers all the time, even during bath time. Although I try to keep them rinsed she still manages to get the soap in her mouth. Will this make her sick or upset her tummy? It is bath soap for a baby.My baby gets soap in her mouth during bath time.?
If you are using baby products, then you have absolutely NOTHING to worry about, they are tested extensively and pose NO risk if ingested by an infant. Face it, every baby is going to get some soap or shampoo into their mouth, they are babies and thatis one of their ways of exploring the world. Adult soap could cause an irritated or upset tummy, but they would have to ingest a fair amount, not just what is on their fingers.........before this happens, most would stop eating or licking. She will be fine mom, she is not the first, nor will she be the last to taste the soap, and still manage to survive. My baby gets soap in her mouth during bath time.?
use johnson to johnson gentle wash body wash.. its designed to not burn or harm the baby if accidentally ';sucked or swallowed';. Make sure she does not eat too much though.

When washing your child, wash the hands and make sure to wash the shampoo or body wash off immediately. Give her something to hold onto and distract her when you give her a bath.
it might give her a bit of diarrhea, but it should be okay as long as it is not much. and i assume it isn't much since you are saying it was on her fingers, it isn't like she drank the bottle.
it might upset her tummy a little bit and she'll probably poop like crazy but the soap shouldn't hurt her......i have 9 neices and nephews and they all did it too. plus one of my own that loves to suck on his fingers
She should be fine. My 2 1/2 yr old stepdaughter used to drink the bath water (with the soap in it) when she was learning to drink from a cup. We obviously told her not to, because it's kinda gross, but your child sucking his fingers shouldn't be a problem at all. My 5 mo old son does the same thing.
nope, it is designed around that reason. My daughter used to suckon the wash cloth. (of course I would try to rinse it out well) That tiny bit won't hurt her.
As long as you are using the baby soap to wash her with then it should be fine. My daughter is almost two and she loves bubbles in her bath and she thinks it's quiet funny to try to eat the bubbles. She hasn't had any problems.

    Pamolive dish soap in bath?

would it be a bad idea to take a bubble bath with the palmolive aroma therapy dish soap im 9 m pregnant and absolutely am obsessed with the scent and it actually calms and sooths me?Pamolive dish soap in bath?
Well considering its gental its probally not going to casue any harm. My aunts and grandparents used to use Pamolive on the kids when we were younger for cleaning if they ran out of regular soap. They weren't rich so at times they had to improvise and it never killed us. However I'm older now and being that my circumstances are different I would never do that. If your uncertain cal and ask your doctor!Pamolive dish soap in bath?
Ha ha.. pregnancy is a crazy thing! I don't believe it's going to hurt you as long as you don't ingest it. It may really dry out your skin though.. If you do chose to do it, be sure to read the warning labels and rub yourself down with Vitamine E lotion, or some type when you get out! :)
The bubbles won't last very long... but other than that there's really nothing wrong with taking a bath in dish soap water. I used to take bubble baths in dish soap water all the time. It won't hurt you, it's detergent.
Maybe you could look around for something with the same 'ingredients' in it. Maybe even something by palmolive..?
I wouldn't do it, that stuff gives me a rash just from doing dishes, let alone soaking in it.
i use dish soap all the time for bubbles.

LOL You bring back memories. My Siamese boy cat crawled in the broiler (it was not on) when I opened the door to clean it. He got a nice greasy stripe down his back. Reverse skunk! I left him dirty till my husband came home to see him, then I gave him his first bath. I just used human shampoo because I had to get that grease off.

By the way, I have a friend that shows cats. Show cats do get bathed. Water will NOT hurt your cat as long as they don't get a chill. Soap won't hurt if you rinse thoroughly. I had a vet that said don't use dandruff shampoo with zinc like Head and Shoulders.

Every one of my Siamese cats has been bathed. I do it monthly to reduce allergens. There coats look and feel great. I have lots of people ask me why my cats are so soft. Can I bath a kitten in baby soap alot early then waiting to using cat soap at 12 weeks?
You can use baby shampoo, just be sure to rinse it out. Why do you want to bath the kitten? If it isn't really dirty, don't. It can get chilled if you don't dry it all the way %26amp; most cats hate blowdryers. Can I bath a kitten in baby soap alot early then waiting to using cat soap at 12 weeks?
if your bathing to get rid of fleas, do not wait. Fleas can kill a young kitten by sucking its blood and making it anemic. wont hurt it and the mother, should be fine with your scent if she is your cat
Cats and kittens do not need a bath, they have their own built in bath it,s called their tongue. So the answer is no soap and no bath.
NO! 1.The cat will lick itself to clean and poisen itself,

    2.The cat cleans itself

3.One of my cats almost died like this,
If you have the mother with you, then I wouldn't just in case if she disregards the kitten because of the smell. If your kitten is weened, then I would say go ahead and do it, it won't her it at all! :)
I always use baby shampoo on pets ...
Cat's usually don't need bathes. They spend their time washing themselves.
    sure. but rinse thoroughly.
I wouldn't if I were u without asking my vet first and showing her the soap bottle so that she can what chemicals are in the soap but hey that's just me.
You should just wipe the kitty using a cat recommended wipe and wait till the 12 week period is over for a full bath. If you bathe the kitten too early it will interfere with fur growth and the mother's recognition of its kitten

  • What to do with left over small pieces of bath soaps ?

i put them in flush tank and every time water is flushed it leaves a fragrance. What to do with left over small pieces of bath soaps ?
All I do is to the left overs of bath soaps are either to stick on the new soap after using new soap for the first time after bath or to dissolve it in a mug of water and mix with cloth cleaning water bucket. this way water hardness is reduced and the consumption and efficiency of detergent increases. What to do with left over small pieces of bath soaps ?
My suggestion is to place them in a mesh bag or an old ankle high hose. Use this for scrubbing out your bathroom sink and tub. Store this between uses by hanging in an out of the way place with a stickon hook. If you use the hose you can also use this to wash your hands.
After they are dry, put them in dresser drawers to keep the drawers and clothing smelling fresh. You can also tuck them in the towel closet to keep the towels smelling fresh.

Keep a piece in your sewing kit to 'sharpen' dull needles and pins.
Put them in a bucket, with water n use the soap water for cleaning clothes.
keep it in a separate soap box. you can use this small pieces of soap to wash your hands
Stick one on top of the other and make a soap ball and use it as a soap cake. I do it.
Get an old pan, melt them down and then remold in plastic containers for a brand new bar of soap!
Put all them in a pot and pour some water and u can use the soap water for cleaning clothes etc.
Very creative ideas above...I just throw them away.
use it to clean small things-like duster or any showpiece

If I'm not mistaken but I think you can use....

Ivory mild dish soap. Can i take my guinea pig a bath, and what kind of soap do i use?
Guinea pigs rarely need to be bathed. Bathing can dry out their skin and cause irritations.

DO NOT use human shampoo as it will over-dry out your guinea pig's skin. Stick to a small animal shampoo, such as Bunny Bath which is specially formulated for small animals. Can i take my guinea pig a bath, and what kind of soap do i use?
Well, I used to have a bunny so you should just get a wash cloth and get some baby soap and rub the cloth over the guinea pig in the right direction which is towards the left.
I agree with Silly Goose. ask at Walmart or the pet store about the soap. But what you need to be careful about, is that you keep it and the cage inside the air conditioned house, during the hot summers, espcially if you have someone house sit, for you. Heat will kill a guinea pig, no matter how much water it has.
YES. KEEP WATER LOW AND WARM. USE BABY SHAMPOO , RINCE WELL. BLOW DRY. DONT BURN WITH WATER OR DRIER. HAVE FUN. REMEMBER BE SLOW AND CALM.
UNFORTUNATELY MANY 'BABY SOAPS' AND 'BABY SHAMPOOS' DO HAVE ADDED DETERGENTS/COLOURINGS/PERFUMES THAT IRRITATE THE SKIN. ANIMALS SEEM TO BE ESPECIALLY PRONE TO REACTIONS TO THESE ADDITIVES. I WOULD BUY A TOTALLY ADDITIVE FREE SHAMPOO FROM A PET SHOP/VET. IT WORKS OUT TO BE ECONOMIC BECAUSE YOU ONLY NEED TINY AMOUNTS (FROTH WELL WITH SHALLOW LUKEWARM WATER). BEST TO DO OUT IN SUNSHINE OR WARM BATHROOM AND DRY THOROUGHLY STRAIGHT AWAY.

Stick your head under the faucet and rinse. How do i take a bubble bath and clean my hair if the water to use to get the soap out has bubblebath in it?
Do you have a bath and shower? Just take a shower after your bath to wash your hair. That's what I do. If you don't then just drain the water and wash your hair under the faucet.
what i would do is wash your hair in the shower, put a cap on it then go shave your leggs. or vs versa take a bath shave ect clean your self up then go take a shower after wards and wash your hair so it is sperate. i allways take a bath first in pony tail. then go wash my hair but it in a cap then wash my body. how ever... simply just use a cap! goodluck..
Always take a quick shower after taking a bath. You're sitting in dirty water and you need to rinse that residue off... so that would be the time to rinse your hair.
i remember when i was really little and would take bubble baths, my mom would take a cup and when i was ready to rinse off my hair she would turn the water on and put the cup right under the faucet and then pour out the cup onto my my head with the clean water.

Most dish soaps have degreasers and detergent in them so they make your skin dry. They won't hurt you but they're far less suited to soft skin than regular bubble bath!! : /Is it safe to use dish soap as bubble bath?
yea it wont poison u or anything, but dish soap wouldn't be good for ur skin since it makes it dry and flaky. that always happens to me after i do the dishes, so i can imagine the amount of damage it would do after soaking ur whole body in it. why dont u just go and buy some real bublle bath from bath and body works or victorias secret or something??
nope is not a good idea it can bit harsh for your skin and can make it dry tight I suggest to use body wash instead is less harsh on skin
yup and then you can wash your dishes while you bathe!
its probably not the best idea since its made for greasy dishes and not dead skin cells
It would be safe but I'm sure it would make your skin very dry
I asked my mom and she said no, it's not safe!!!!
WTFZ~! NO! DOOOO NOT DO THAT,COMMON SENCE!

How did the cavepeople keep their hygiene (toilet, bath etc) when they had no soap or paper? didn't they?

suffer any skin diseases as a consequence or were they immune to them? How did the cavepeople keep their hygiene (toilet, bath etc) when they had no soap or paper? didn't they?
I think that early man (cavemen) had about as much hygiene as monkeys. They were constantly on the move looking for anything to eat and not be eaten. Life was very short and I don't think it was for some thousands of years before anything like hygiene was considered. They didn't shave, bathe, wipe, have tissues to blow noses, etc. They most likely had lots of skin problems including lice, ticks, and other parasites. Not too glamorous. How did the cavepeople keep their hygiene (toilet, bath etc) when they had no soap or paper? didn't they?
jojoba from plants worked as soap for cleansing. Aloe Vera healed wounds. Communal toilets kept disease and smell down, and different woven fabrics served as towels. Think about it, all the stuff we pay a lot of money for a au naturel places are stuff our ancestors used and took advantage of for free.
i agree with puppyfred ,and also think of it, we are really spoiled nowadays, how do you think all the animals survive all their life ,which for may of them is not that short?! i have never heard of lions brushing their teeth, or monkeys taking a bubble bath, but they have their own natural ways of keeping them self's clean .

beside that, when body is exposed to some micro organisms for a long long time it will no more cause disease in the body, they might have been living in a dirtier environment than now but because of over exposure they have had kind of natural immunization .

and of course they have had their own natural remedies for their diseases.from different fruits and herbs.
they didn't wash havent you ever seen pictures of how we depict their appearance

If i want to get rid of the aphids can i use dish liquid soap or bathing soap too?

Here is what the research from the University of Illinois has to say on this subject:

';Insecticidal soaps are useful in controlling various insect and mite pests in landscapes and nurseries, including aphids, scales, mealybugs and twospotted spider mites. A soap is a substance derived from the activity of an alkali such as sodium (hard soap) or potassium (soft soap) hydroxide on a fat. Fats are generally a blend of particular fatty acid chain lengths. Soap is a general term for the salts of fatty acids.

Soft-bodied pests such as aphids, the crawler stage of scales and mealybugs, thrips, whiteflies, and mites are most susceptible to soap applications. Soaps generally have minimal activity on beetles and other hard-bodied insects. Soaps are effective ONLY when insects or mites come into direct contact with the spray. Dried residues on plant surfaces have minimal insect or mite activity as soap residues degrade rapidly.

Soaps kill insect and mite pests in one of three ways - although the mode of action is still undetermined. (1) Soaps may work by penetration of the fatty acids through the insect's outer covering and dissolving or disrupting cell membranes. This disrupts cell integrity, causing cells to leak and collapse, destroying respiratory functions, and resulting in dehydration and death of the insect. (2) Soaps may act as insect-growth regulators, interfering with cellular metabolism and production of growth hormones during metamorphosis. (3) Soaps mat block the spiracles, interfering with respiration.

There are a variety of fatty acids: however, only certain ones have an insecticidal properties. This trait is related to the length of the carbon-based fatty acid chains. Most soaps with insect and mite activity are composed of long-chain fatty acids. Whereas shorter fatty acids have herbicidal properties.

There is a general misconception that any soap or detergent can be used as an insecticide. Although only a few select soaps have insecticidal properties, many common household soaps and detergents including Palmolive, Ivory, Joy, Tide, and Dove, which are unlabeled insecticides, have some activity on many soft-bodied insects when applied to plants as a 1% or 2% aqueous solution. However, reliability is less predictable than soaps formulated as insecticides.

Dishwashing liquids and laundry detergents are primarily designed to dissolve grease from dishes and clean clothes, not to kill insects. These materials may cause plant injury by dissolving the waxy cuticle on leaf surfaces. Registered, commercially available insecticidal soaps are less likely to dissolve plant waxes. Also, plants with hairy leaves may be more susceptible to injury from dishwashing liquids and detergents. Dishwashing liquids and laundry detergents, like insecticidal soaps, lack any residual activity; thus more frequent applications are needed. However, too many applications harm certain plant types. In addition, detergents are chemically different from soaps and may cause phytotoxicity. In fact, many hand soaps are not necessarily pure fatty acids. Most importantly, these solutions are not registered insecticides. Soap companies don't intend their products to be used as insecticides, as they have not gone through the EPA registration process.

Soaps, even insecticidal soaps, may be directly and indirectly harmful to natural enemies. For example, one study showed insecticidal soap to harm predatory mites. In another study, a 4% application rate of insecticidal soap was moderately harmful to western flower thrips predator.

The type of fatty acid, length of carbon-based fatty acid chain, and concentration in many laundry and dish soaps is not known. Also, the insecticidal effectiveness may be compromised by coloring agents or perfumes, oftentimes leading to inconsistent results. Certain laundry and dish soaps precipitate in ';hard'; water, thus reducing their effectiveness.

Despite the activity of some dishwashing liquids and laundry soaps on insect and mite pests, their use in landscapes and nurseries should be avoided primarily because they are not registered insecticides. Even more important is that a pest control company generally stands behind a product when there is a problem. If dish or laundry soap is used and plants are injured, there is no recourse.';If i want to get rid of the aphids can i use dish liquid soap or bathing soap too?
Neem oil and Bayer advanced Tree%26amp;Shrub pest contorl work best for me!If i want to get rid of the aphids can i use dish liquid soap or bathing soap too?
Yes, I have heard of that method but just with the dish soap. (Try Dawn)
Yep. Get a spray bottle at K-Mart and put in some cheap liquid bath soap. (The aphids ain't gonna care if it smells nice, or is anti-bacterial.) Fill the bottle up about 1/8 of the way with the soap, and the rest of the way with warm water. (That helps disolve the soap better.)

Then spray like mad! Pretty soon the aphids have a nice coating of soap on them, and they can't get any oxygen. Dead aphids. You do wan't to make sure that the ants that usually tend the aphids are not keeping more destructive bugs from your plants before you do this.

    Good luck. Ciao!
    Dish soap is best.
Either detergents or soaps work to kill insects that have soft bodies such as aphids, young scales, whiteflies, psyllids, mealybugs, and spider mites. Detergent is just more likely to injure the plants. This is known as ';phytotoxicity.'; It is most likely to occur when it is warmer so spray early or very late. This also extends the drying time making the spray more effective since it only works while it is wet. Known sensitive plants include: Begonias, impatiens, ferns, african violets, palms and succulents and some varieties of tomato. It is best to wet one leaf on the plant. Test one leaf overnight for toxicity. Even some plants that are sensitive can be sprayed then rinsed the next day to remove residue before the sun hits them.

What you need to use is liquid soap as the powdered or solid forms are harsher on the plants.

Detergent and soap are different things. Soap is less likely to injure the plants than dish detergents. Soaps include Ivory, pure castille, Dr Bonner, Murphy's Oil, and liquid hand soaps. The limitation with soap, but not detergent, is it does not work well in hard water. Distilled water avoids that limitation.

Special purpose insecticidal soap sprays are the easiest on the plants and by far the more expensive method.

I usually make a 2% solution of soap because it tends to work well and offers a safe range of use in the garden.
You need to use soap that is pure like Ivory.

Don't use detergent type products that have phosphates, because that's bad for the environment.

Many have taken the soap scraps %26amp; added them to water to make their own liquid soap spray.

Soap %26amp; water spray is used as a last resort when hosing down the plants with a strong spray of water doesn't get rid of them.

You only need a tablespoon of liquid soap to a gallon of water.

    Good luck! Hope this helps.
Got you covered, and this is all organic and cheap.

1 Bottle of Palmolive Dish Liquid

1 quart of Household Clear Ammonia

1 Beer Take a sip first pour the rest in the mixing container

    4 tablespoons of Miacle Grow.

Mix well and spray through a garden sprayer. It won't hurt to spray leaves and all.

If my cat has a wound should I give him a bath with soap?

He was lost for 24 days (Yes, its a miracle hes back :):)).

Hes been home for 3 days, and so far, theres nothing wrong with him, other than him being quite skinny.

He has dirty paws, but we didn't want to frighten him (he hates bathes %26amp; hes only had 1 in his lifetime) on the first day he was back.

He has a wound on his paw from being out for so long. Theres no fur on the wound, and theres no blood. Its a baby pink colour. Its the size of a old half-dollar (15cm diameter? around. Im not so sure)

Hes quite dirty after being out for so long. Not extremely dirty, but still, it would be nice if he was a little cleaner.

Should we give him a bath with soap?If my cat has a wound should I give him a bath with soap?
My first instinct is to have vet check him over. So many things can happen to him. Is he current on his shots?? If not, definately have him checked over or at least monitor him closely.

As far as a bath, I would suggest getting some warm water and a cloth. You can then gently ';sponge bathe'; kitty for now. I wouldn't suggest actually giving a bath just yet. Please... keep him indoors from now on. Next time he may not come back.If my cat has a wound should I give him a bath with soap?
i think normal soap would iratate your cats wound even though it dosn't sound serious, although my cat had a surgery when he was younger and had to get stitches the vet said its fine to bathe him aslong as i use a pets bathing soap or a liquid soap with tea tree oil in it.
take him to the vet because of the wound and cats are perfectly capable of cleaning them selves so dont bother with the bath espacially not the soap!! that willl irritate his skin ,try using a damp clean cloth

    RGxx
Ouch, now if he's got wounds soap will irritate him.

Cats hate baths, and they're capable of cleaning themselves up though it may take a few days.
He probably should be on antibiotics for the wound. I would see a vet.

  • How do you make homemade soap (for baths and shampoo)?

Essentially, you take beef or Deer Tallow, boil it in a mixture of about 4 to 1 tallow to water and add lye to congela the mixture when it's boiling. Continue boiling for an hour or two and let it set overnight to harden. Cut into bar sized cakes and you have homemeade soap. It's kind of harsh and has a slight odor to it but if you soften it with warm water and add essential oils and use herbal Tea rather than water it will smell a lot better and be a lot healthier for your skin.

By the way, the boiling part is VERY smelly and you should do it outside or in a well aired kitechen to allow the smell to get out of the house.

Does sunscreen get absorbed in the skin and continue to give protection after it is washed off with soap and water.

Why does it say one should apply the lotion 45 minutes before going out in the sun?Does sun screen lotion continue to give protection after a bath using soap?
No. You wash the protecting part off, at least most part. It is the film on the outside that filters the UV. Just go under black-light and look how good you applied the stuff.

Some ingredients are in your sunscreen to pamper your skin like moisturizers and stuff. They get in, protection stays on top. I'm amazed how the stuff knows how to split itself...oh well. That's what they say happens.

Depending on what sunscreen you use it indeed needs 'activation time' though there are some that work instantly like some new spray on types.

There are also brands around that work differently, they make the skin take care of itself by allowing it to tan fast so it can do what it's made for. Your tan is nature's way of protecting you.Does sun screen lotion continue to give protection after a bath using soap?
No, as per the directions ON THE BOTTLE you must reapply.

And if your read the bottle enough to know that you should apply 45 minutes before going out, you would know that.

You have to apply it early becaue the silver oxide has to have a chance to align its molecules in the cream that you just put on.
soap is quite harsh and would remove sunscreen. Most sunscreens say u must re apply through the day as well as after swimming. This is because of UV rays which can damage your skin and cause skin cancer. Suncreen is supposed to form a layer or barrier between your skin and the Uv rays.

Anyone remember when some boxes of laundry soap came with a bath towel inside?

Sure do. the large box had a towel, the next size smaller had a hand towel and the small box had a washcloth. It might have been Duz, not sure about that.

Oats had dishes and plates in them, do you remember that?Anyone remember when some boxes of laundry soap came with a bath towel inside?
    omg really?

lol when did i miss that?Anyone remember when some boxes of laundry soap came with a bath towel inside?
    No sorry I dont
I do my mother used it....want to say it was called snowy...I could be very wrong.
lmao.. wow you must be pretty old
No. How long ago was that?
Yes, I remember dish cloths and tea towels in the boxes of laundry soap.
Yes But I can not recall the Brand name any more for certain I think it was called Duz
I hate to admit my age sometimes but i do.hey do you remember sacked flour after using the flour you had a pillowcase. Or the front of the flour bag had the face of a doll and the back had her backside and you could make a rag doll.
    Yes I remember.
Um no, but I'm only 14.
    I do!!!!!

I want to say it was Cheer Or Tide maybe.......I hated those boxes that you had to scoop the soap from. I much rather the liquid!!!
yeah was that Surf? I also remember dishes.
..and cereal had real toys..now you have to send in box tops or get on-line.
You just brought back a memory! I do remember now. When mom went shopping we would try to guess what color the towel was in the box. those things sure came in handy too. there were 8 of us kids.
    yeah back in the day
Yes, it was Breeze. I couldn't remember the name, so I Googled it.
Yes, I can. Darn it. Lux had towels. Others had Dolls.

And Skippy peanut butter used to come in stemmed glasses, or regular, your choice. in a pattern similar to wexford crystal
My mom said she doesn't remember and shes like 40 yrs old.

    Are u serious?
No but I got a Happy Feet Penguin last year in my washing powder. I screamed becoz i thought it was a dead mouse !! LOL ha ha

I've read that soap will not kill the bacteria that causes acne no matter how much you wash. The thing that seems to work best is 2.5% benzoyl peroxide products.

  • Is it true you can take a puppy a bath with laundry soap as long as it doesn't have bleach and clorox?

NO WAY!!! Far too many chemicals! If you don't want to use dog shampoo, you are safe with your bar soap. Please Don't poison your puppy.

Towel dry him very good, and don't let him get a chill. Keep house warm until he dries.

Don't get water in his ears..you can put a cotton ball in his ears to help. Soap in his eyes will sting, just as it does in yours. Is it true you can take a puppy a bath with laundry soap as long as it doesn't have bleach and clorox?
No, dogs and cat's have very sensitive skin. Laundry soap is way to caustic. Other than specific pet shampoo, try a real mild soap like J%26amp;J baby shampoo. About 5-10 hours after their bath, watch their scratching habbits, if they start scratching or develop red spots on the inside of their hind legs, then you need something with a slightly lower pH level. (pH above 7 is called a base, which is what soap is 'basically' is). Read their body language to get a full idea on what works for them.Is it true you can take a puppy a bath with laundry soap as long as it doesn't have bleach and clorox?
no there are still other harsh chemicals why do you think they make tide free and dreft because the chemical irrtants give infants and some people rashes or inflammed red welts or painful itchy skin try some baby shampoo if you want to use household products on puppy
no soap shampoo for dogs is best. any laundry product contains soap that will remove the oils from the dogs fur that moisturize its skin and keeps it relatively water repellent not to mention that that type of product probably doesnt rinse well and could make your dog sick when they lick themselves
would you like a bath in laundry soap? and have you heard of pet-co? no!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Umm, I suppose you could, much as you could give your self a bath with laundry soap if you wanted. However, laundry soaps and dishwashing soaps are usually much more basic then regular hand or body soap, and as such are probably pretty harsh on the poor puppies skin... Why not just use dog shampoo? Or if your too cheap for that human shampoo?
NOOOOOOO! You would cause the puppy to have skin issues that would cost you lots of money and cause the animal untold discomfort and suffering. You want your canine to have a beautiful, shiny, healthy coat and be happy. Would you wash your body with laundry detergent? There's your sign......
Not a good idea, too many chemicals.

I personally use human shampoo %26amp; conditioner. My pets have never developed skin problems from them. Then again, I use the same shampoo %26amp; I tend to get good quality hair products. ^_^
First off Laundry soap BAD... People Soap BAD... Baby Shampoo Worse than BAD. Get some pet shampoo and not the garbage they sell at the grocery store.

Dogs and cats for that matter have a different PH level than people do. Baby shampoo is the worst because it is designed to take the oil that people put on babies out. It will strip every little bit of oil from the hair and worse yet the skin of your puppy.

Now if your intention is to ruin you pups skin by all means go for it.
I used to use wool wash on my cat
    are you insane???NO WAY!
yes, but also make sure you dont spank your puppy while your washing him

My baby gets soap in her mouth during bath time.?

Do you use soap to bath?

Yeah, sure do.Do you use soap to bath?
dduuhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Do you use soap to bath?
    of course
soap? As in bar soap, no.. Shower gel
Yes, otherwise you are just getting wet.

Nope. Licking myself clean is much more fun.
    duh.....of course

Silly question..... fish shampoo? Come on now...they have no hair....so why would they need shampoo. I'd try Petco and ask for fish soap.My beta fish smells like fish. Can I give him a bath and what soap should I use? Do they make fish shampoo?
no. if you try that youll kill the fish. anyway its not the fish its the water. the only thing you can do is keep changing the water. change the water every 6 days. that always works with my beta fish.My beta fish smells like fish. Can I give him a bath and what soap should I use? Do they make fish shampoo?

Geeeeeeeeeee they did where have you been for the last 40 + years ? It is called Ivory !
    ivory floats
Ivory always had floating soap. Back in the fifties their slogan was ';It Floats';.
They already have. It's called ';Ivory';.
    ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm鈥? your stupid
i think you got your answer already, man. sorry but maybe you should get a better kind of bar soap
someone has, sweetie, it's called IVORY soap!!
    Ivory soap floats.
    Then take showers instead.
Try Ivory bar soap - it's been floating for about 30 years now
Gary, buy ivory soap bars, they've always floated in the bath.
I thought Ivory soap figured that one out 50 years or so ago.

I remember it was the first soap that floats
Get some soap on a rope!
Hi Gary...do you use soap? Ivory floats, Dove floats - a lot of soaps float. Try one.
there is a floating soap ivory
    Dear.. friend..

its already there.. i understand you haven't seen them. specially for babies.. and young kids.. where this issue is quite common.
dove or ivory float maybe its both but i know one of them does....they both have been around for ages......
They have MANY years ago, it is called Ivory.
You don't need floating soap. Use soap on a rope.
    it os your time. babe!
    Liquid soap floats.

Why, when you have a bath with bubble bath in it, do the bubbles all pop when you put soap in the water?

If your soap has lanolin in it, and a lot of them do, the the grease will float on the top of the water and kill your bubbles, most soaps have some kind of fat in them, if you want to keep your bubbles, then use a shower gel to wash in the bath.

also if you have greasy lips when you drink a Cola type drink, it will go flat, same reason. Why, when you have a bath with bubble bath in it, do the bubbles all pop when you put soap in the water?
Soap reduces the surface tension of the water / bubble surface. Why, when you have a bath with bubble bath in it, do the bubbles all pop when you put soap in the water?
lack of surface tension caused by the slippery soap

and why, no matter what colour the bubble bath is, be it purple, orange or even bright red, are the bubbles always white? i've always wanted pink bath bubbles....
Eat Baked Beans mate .... then the Bubbles will return.... problem sorted...
No they dont....they are all over ur body :-)
The bubble bath is a detergent different from soap chemically and the two clash.
    no
    I have no idea.

  • My lazy husband never take a bath with soap , never brush his teeth, never shampooing his hair, never help?

me with the laundry or any ather house work, he work at a cafee, but there's nothing else he's doing at home,i've to work too to cover the family expenses,we've been married for 6 years now , and we have a son ,4 years old now , very active never stop moving unless sleeping off course, but my husband just care about his and this computer thing only, chatting, browsing, laughing and bla bla bla , what should i do???? i tried to be patient for so long and tried to accept him, but he think that i gave him a permission to keep doing this to me,i tried to talk to him, but he's just yelling at me to shut up,so????why do i have to do everything myself, and he can't even take care of himself even only for his own hygiene???My lazy husband never take a bath with soap , never brush his teeth, never shampooing his hair, never help?
    1. How about asking him to take a shower with you.

    2. He could be feeling very depressed or very low with low esteem.

3 Him being on the computer most of the time, might be his way of escaping reality to a degree.

    4. Try and pay him more attention, maybe he's behaving like that cos he's feeling unloved?

5.Tell him you'd like to go out for an evening with him, somewhere he likes. and when he makes an effort, really compliment him.

    6. Don't let his lazy ways rub off on you. keep your chin up.

All the BestMy lazy husband never take a bath with soap , never brush his teeth, never shampooing his hair, never help?
He needs help, this is a mental disorder. I worked in a group home for people with mental disorders. One women never took a bath. You would never know because she presented herself very well. IT IS A MENTAL DISORDER. Try to get him some help.

Also it sounds to me that he has a computer addiction.

People with these types of addictions exhibit some of the same behaviors.

If he won't go for help you have no other choice but to leave him. If he doesn't change then follow through with divorce.

You are wasting time trying to battle disorders like these on your own. These are best left up to professionals. Trust me, my adult son has a gaming addiction. He exhibits the same behavior with hygiene. We have been battling this since he was a teenager. My son is lazy. He does nothing but work his day job and play games. He doesn't keep up his home, yard, cars or anything that normal men take care of. His only thoughts are of his games. He is also extremely overweight due to his inactivity. He refuses to take his girlfriend and baby daughter anywhere and she is making arrangements to leave. I am not so sure he even cares, once she is gone he can play even more.

    LEAVE HIM
For better or worse sucks sometimes. Tell him to wash up or get out. No one should have to live like that.
Has your husband ever been screened for clinical depression? It sounds as if he is displaying some symptoms. For an adult to show no attention to personal hygiene is not normal at all. I would talk to him about possibly getting screened. Either way, you can not allow this to continue. Tell him that something is going to have to change. Either marriage or individual counseling. Consider taking your son and moving out until he decides.

P.S.- How is he able to keep his job if he smells?
hi there if youre this unhappy then do something about it and waken up youre slob of a man ......move out and make a life for youre self and youre son .......youre doing everything any way and if he is out the picture except for visiting youre son you should be happier not having to deal with him around youre feet ,and you would probably get help from the goverment in one way or an other good luck
i really do not know what to say.........it sounds terrible to me.......i am a very clean person myself and i could not stand a husband like that........i am not for divorce either but sometimes that is the only way if you can not get him to wake up........you should not be the only support of the family while he stays home and plays on the computer and to lazy to even take care of hisself..........i would just tell him how you feel and if he does not like your suggestions tell him you cannot take the way he is doing anymore.....the lack of taking care of hisself would be enough for me.......i wish you the best and hope things get straightened up for you
Drop him off at a farm near the pig sty. He'll fit right in.
ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT YOUR HUSBAND OR A CHIMPANZEE WHO RESEMBLES HIM??
i could see where the lazy part comes in but husband... thats just not the word.
tell him to or you're leaving, otherwise its not that bad...people lock themselves in their rooms without doing any of that for years!
Dump him, walk out. Dont take the crap that he is handing out, leave him now, he is not worth it. Get a life why are u living in misery. This is so painful. Dont take any more of this. He is such a skunk. How do you live with this dirt ball. You dont need this trash. You are just being used and abused and in time it will get worse. Walk out now. File for divorce, seperation whatever. Its not worth it. All men are trash, stay away from them/
They have this new thing...it's called a ';Divorce';. Works wonders. Oh, nice choice for a husband too.
Oh you poor thing - that is NOT pleasant. My husband is a bit slack with showering and cleaning his teeth. But I tell him no sex unless he cleans up, so he gets his act together most nights ;)

The other issue, the not helping out, is a serious one because you can't do it all yourself. People will say ';just talk to him'; but it sounds like he won't listen, and he won't change. A friend of mine tried this. She did things for herself and her kids, but nothing for her husband. She got a huge bin and when she tidied up just threw everything of her husband's in that. Clothes, computer bits and pieces, CDs, letters. If he asked where anything was she said ';in the bin';. Made her feel better because the mess was contained in one place, but she wasn't doing anything to help him sort his own mess out. If he wanted something to wear, it was in the bin - dirty, if he'd left it that way. You could try it! A bit of passive aggression without nagging.
How you have lasted so long with this dirty slob is beyond me...I would have found a job and left him ages ago ( with my child). He also seems to be a bully and it seems like you are intimidated by him. If this is not the case than tell him you will leave him ( with your child) if he doesnt clean up his act. If he doesnt respond to that then he doesnt care about you and you are better off without him. If he is violent then ask yourself is he worth the trouble? if not then move on and build a life for you and your child alone. If he tries to get custody of the child you have enough evidence on him ( uncleanliness and laziness) to make the courts think twice about giving him custody.
give me the name of the cafe he works in and i definately wont eat there.how on earth do you sleep with someone like that...I would have to be honest with him and say ...';you stink and if I can smell you I am sure other people can too';,and if that doesn't work tell friends (in front of him) that he doesn't wash or bathe and hopefully you may shame him into grooming himself..he has no respect for himself or for you if this doesn't work leave him..the dirty lazy slime ball
and you were attracted to him because.....
Leave him and file for child support. He is a jerk and he will remain one. I had to leave a guy like that once. He was the laziest person I have ever met. I did not realize it until after we got together. All of a sudden, he decides that he doesn't even have to bathe, clean, pick up after himself or anything. I got out of there like a bat out of he##! I can't believe you have stayed long enough to have a child with him!!

I've been thinking about this too. (lots of bubble baths)...

Is it true that if my parrot has tiny bugs i can bath him with ';Dawn Dish Soap'; and it will get rid of them?

No, it is not true. If your bird has mites, please have him seen by a vet who will prescribe the appropriate treatment for him.

Wildlife rehabbers *who have been extensively trained* wash birds in Dawn dish soap ONLY after an oil spill. They are trained to work quickly, rinse *thoroughly* several times and keep the bird warm through it all because an oiled or soaped bird cannot regulate its own body temperature.

Dawn dish soap is SO full of phosphates that the original formula isn't even available in Canada. It is absolutely horrible for a bird's feathers and skin. Only a rehabber or a vet should EVER wash a bird in this manner and then only if it is absolutely necessary. You can do your bird GREAT harm by washing him or her in dish soap.

http://pets.groups.yahoo.com/group/Parro鈥?/a>Is it true that if my parrot has tiny bugs i can bath him with ';Dawn Dish Soap'; and it will get rid of them?
I would not bath. That is only for oiled birds and it is risky and has to be done just right. You can try a product called scalex that is good and apply with a cotton ball so bird does not inhale it. Or my best advice would be to visit a vet and have them see what type of bug it is and treat. Usually give a med called Ivermectin which is given in three small doses and does the job. Will also have to clean cage out well. .Don't worry cant catch them they are species specific. Is it true that if my parrot has tiny bugs i can bath him with ';Dawn Dish Soap'; and it will get rid of them?
Please don't bath the parrot! it is unnecesary and gets rid of the natural oils wich make them ';weather proof';. Buy either some Jhonsons (And only jhonsons) cage and avairy anti-parasite spray or talk to your vet who will tell you wich to use and how much.

    Good luck!
I don't know about parrots, but I know this is true for snakes with mites. You can water down a mixture of Dawn (and only Dawn) and put the snake in it to get rid of the mites. Now, I'm not saying this is for parrots, but it does work for snakes...
No parrots don't have tiny mites. If you spray it daily with warm water and you find it scratches a lot. Not normal grooming but giving a screeches in biting its self then it my have mites. you can buy treatment from northern parrots.

    No!

The parrots has a very sensitive skin and soap might harm it, it is best to take him to the vet, the vet will tell you what to do, do not risk your parrot life please :(
Do not use Dawn on any birds. I highly recommend using a product called Bird Bath to kill any unwanted bugs like mites and lice. This product works great as I have used it on any new birds that I bring into aviary.
just buy powder to kill the pests dont take risk..

i am 75 percent sure that your bird can suffocate with the dish soap's smell.

That stuff by Old Spice in the red bottle. But don't call it soap, it's shower gel. No flowery gayish soapy odor from me...I'm all about the shower gel, it doesn't wash off testosterone and there's no chance of someone else contaminating it like a bar of soap. Just plop a bit on your head, soap and work your way down. No need for 10 types of shampoos and soaps and conditioners. Nice and simple, yah, baby!

MichEAla, I have several favorites because it depends on the time of year and the mood that I am in. The first and favorite is by all means Neutragena's Rainbath!! It is great for all year round. I live in a climate that has hot summers and very cold dry winters. Rainbath is soothing after a sunburn in the summer and soothing and moisturizing in the winter. The smell is wonderful and relaxing! In the spring I like a lilac scented body wash, around the holidays, I like either a vanilla or cinnamon scented body wash. On really hot sweaty humid days in the summer, I really like a more crisp cleansing body wash like Dial Ocean Breeze. Sorry this was so long, but I am a woman of many scents.
I use Irish Spring, which I love the smell of and for a bubble bath I use a Milk bath, which makes my skin all soft and smooth!!

  • Which one is better to bathe with, soap or bubble bath?

Well some types of bubble baths cause yeast infections...........so I would defiantly say soap.Which one is better to bathe with, soap or bubble bath?
I recommend a Bath Gel with a skin softener in it...it will do the trick to cleanse you, and at the same time your skin will feel smoothe. Oh one more thing...did you know that IF you shave your legs with a GOOD conditioner..you accomplish even softer skin and the hair grows back more slowly?Which one is better to bathe with, soap or bubble bath?
    soap
    Soap, because its self cleaning

Soaps are useful for cleansing because soap molecules attach readily to both nonpolar molecules (such as grease or oil) and polar molecules (such as water). Although grease will normally adhere to skin or clothing, the soap molecules can attach to it as a ';handle'; and make it easier to rinse away. Allowing soap to sit on any surface (skin, clothes etc) over time can imbalance the moisture content on it and result in the dissolving of fabrics and dryness of skin.

    (water soluble end)

    CH3-(CH2)n - COONa

    (fatty end)

The hydrocarbon (';fatty';) portion dissolves dirt and oils, while the ionic end makes it soluble in water. Therefore, it allows water to remove normally-insoluble matter by emulsification.
    SOAP
Soap! Although bubble baths smell great, they can really dry out your skin. You'd be amazed at what they put into bubble bath; read the labels! There are a few good ones out there, but you really have to be careful.
BATH BUBBLES ARE GOOD, BUT YOU HAVE TO BE CAREFUL IF YOU HAVE SENSITVE SKIN, YOU CAN ALSO GET A YEAST INFECTION WITH CERTAIN BUBBLES. I LIKE USING BODY WASHES WHEN I'M TAKING A SHOWER.
Be careful of bubble bath it can cause urinary tract infections.
    BUBBLES!!!!!!
Neither one, I recommend body wash.
Soap. Use one that moisturizes like Dove. Some brands will dry out your skin.
    nether

Have a shower first, soap of all kinds works by getting particles of dirt to stick to soap particles.so in a bath your soaking in a dirt stew....
    soap

    soap duhhhhh
Soap, bubble bath is NOT a cleansing product. In fact for girls and young women it can be very bad. It can cause infections. You should not use bubble bath at all. I just took one of my 5 daughters to the Dr. because she was having problems and he said NO BUBBLE BATH EVER. He explained how it causes infections and irriations in the female areas. Plus it is not a soap so you won't get clean with it anyway!
    Soap is better.
In a bath, it feels and smells awesome to have bubble bath liquid and bath crystals in the water to soak yourself in.

As for the actual WASHING/CLEANSING of your body, use a scrubby pouf thing with body wash on it.

My favorites are Softsoap bodywash or a bodywash from Bath and Body works (because they suds up really good with just a small amount).
    soap or body wash
You don't clean yourself with bubble bath. You clean yourself with body wash. and yes body was is better than soap; it leaves your skin smooth.

Why does soap-and-water bath everyday prevent acne?

Answer now!!!Why does soap-and-water bath everyday prevent acne?
It removes the oils from your skin, from the pores of your skin and loosens hardened oils up so they come off.

If you have a dry skin problem doing this, use DOVE soap. It continually removes the oils, but leaves a slight coating of lotion. Why does soap-and-water bath everyday prevent acne?
Cleans the pores of the skin, since acne is really just a build up of bacteria that doesn't secrete out of the skin due to large concentrations of it, which is what causes blemishes and markings. By cleaning out those pores, you're helping your body remove the toxins within the skin that it couldn't remove naturally. If you want to use something more than just regular body wash, get an acne wash with at least 2% sallyctic acid as an active ingredient. It may dry your skin, so don't use it more than you need to, and every other day should be sufficient.
nope, because its a bath, you sit on your own dirtyness. acne is created when your pores get cloged with grease, dirt and other things so a bath might make it worse, so just wash your face with soap and water every day to prevent tis thing.

wash your face with hot water to open pores to get the stuff out and the soap in, then clean you face good making shure to get all the soap out and then wash you face with only cold water to close your pores so less stuff can get in.

    good luck with that
Well It depends on the person if you have a ';greasy'; face then you cleanse it enough,

but if you wash your face every single day it can cause the acne because your skin needs the natural oils that your face makes.
No, not neccessarily. If you are an adolescent, you are more prone to acne and should see a dermatologist for medications if it really bothers you.

Why so demanding with the ';answer now'; thing?
Not necessarily ... there are various causes of acne .... if it is caused by oily skin ---%26gt; it works ....
It cleanses the pores but if you use the wrong soap it will dry out your skin.
it washes away oil preventing more pimples!
    not necessarily

How to make a bathing soap with simple amount of chemicals/ingredients?

what are the basic raw material or chemicals involved in making a bathing soap/liquid bathing soap? How to make a bathing soap with simple amount of chemicals/ingredients?
fat and lyeHow to make a bathing soap with simple amount of chemicals/ingredients?
You need fat, lye, and water at a minimum. Mixed in proper proportions and at the right temperatures, this will get you soap. Now, if you want your soap to have some color and fragrance you'll have to add that as well. It is extremely important to use the correct amounts of fat and lye. These are easliy determined for most any type of fat by ';lye calculators'; which are abundantly found for free online. You can find both a good quality ';lye calculator'; where you can brew up your own recipe, as well as recipes all ready to go at a great site called thesage.com They also sell most everything you need to make the soap. I shop there all the time. Best of luck to you, this is an addictive hobby. None of my friends or family has used 'storebought' soap in years! You will love the difference and your skin will thank you!
Vegetable oil and lye (you can buy it at any hardware or grocery store-- it's used to unclog drains). Heat both to 60-80 degrees Celsius before mixing. Neutralize the pH with muriatic acid.

I don't think you'd want to use this on your body, though...
Cold process is a method of making soap (saponification) which does not require use an external heat source to force the saponification process to begin. (Heat is often still applied in order to melt fats or oils that are solid at room temperature and to speed the reaction.) For this reason, this process is often used by soapers, or home soapmakers. Lye, either sodium hydroxide or potassium hydroxide, is mixed with an appropriate amount of fats and/or oils to start the saponification process that leads to soap.

Once the lye solution has cooled to approximately the same temperature as the oils, the two are combined and stirred. A stick blender is often used to speed this process. The two thin, clear substances become cloudy and begin to thicken. Soapmakers refer to the thickening process as ';tracing';. Often, tracing can occur very suddenly: after many minutes of stirring, the mixture can turn to the consistency of pudding in a matter of seconds.

Essential oils, herbs, and fragrances are added at ';light trace'; (just as the mixture starts to thicken) to minimize the lye's neutralizing effect. Soap is then poured into molds and allowed to harden overnight. While the soap hardens, it's normal for it to go through a ';gel phase'; where the opaque soap will turn clear (like glycerine soap) for several hours prior to turning opaque again. The soap will continue to give off heat for up to many hours after trace.

The soap is hard and can be removed from the moulds after typically 48 hours, but it should be allowed to cure for a few weeks to allow excess moisture to evaporate. Contrary to popular belief, perpetuated in several popular crafting books, the soap is perfectly safe to use before curing鈥攏o excess lye will be present if the soap was properly formulated.

This process lets the chemicals do the work. For successful cold-process soapmaking, one needs to be able to measure the exact amount of lye to be used and know the saponification values of the oils in the soap. Excess unreacted lye in the soap results in a very high pH and will burn your skin. Not enough lye, and your soap is a greasy mass of goo. Most soapmakers formulate their recipes to react all of the lye and to leave about 3-10% of the fat unreacted.

Glycerin Soaps are soaps that contain glycerin, a natural part of fat or oil.

The soap making process involves the rendering of fat or oil, with lye. In industrial soap making, the glycerin is then usually removed, for use in more expensive skin care products such as moisturizers. Home-made soaps usually contain glycerin, which avoids dry skin problems.

Glycerin obtained from soap making can also be used to create Nitroglycerin, a chemical compound found in many high explosives, as shown in Fight Club.
